Objective Study the relationship of gastroesophageal reflux disease with obstructivesleep apnea hypopnea syndrome.Materials and Methods260adult patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopneasyndrome, in which194cases are male and66cases are female. All these patients are dividedinto gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) group and non-GERD group according to thereflux disease questionnaires. And between these two groups, the body mass index(BMI),apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) are compared. Then the GERD symptom score isanalysed and compared in the mild, moderate and severe sleep apnea syndrome cases. Results IN the260adult patients with OSAHS,119cases is associated with GERD,witch accounting for45.77%(119/260), another141cases is not associated, witch accountingfor54.23%(141/260). IN these GERD group,99(83.19%) are male and20(16.8%) arefemale. And in these non-GERD group,95(67.38%) are male and46(32.62%) are female, sothe GERD group and non-GERD group is statistically significant in terms ofgender(χ2=8.524,P=0.004).In the GERD group most of patients are older than47yearswitch accounting for78.1%.And the same time, the BMI and AHI of GERD group are higerthan the non-GERD group(P<0.05),witch has statistically significant. The symptom scoreof severe OSAHS is more than those of mild and moderate OSAHS (P<0.05), witch hasstatistically significant.Conclusion1. More of the GERD group are older and fatty male.2. The patients of OSAHS are easier to associated with GERD, witch accounting for45.77%.3. The AHI of GERD group is higer than non-GERD group. 4. With the increase of the severity of the illness in the different levels of OSAHS patients, theGERD symptom score also different. They two are positively related.
