Objective:Observe the results of clinical symptoms, TCM syndromes, lower esophageal sphincter function and pathological acid reflux before and after the treatment of the liver and stomach incoordination type non-erosive reflux disease patients using Chaiban Decotion, and then evaluate its clinical efficacy. Methods:Selected 72 patients diagnosed non-erosive reflux disease and meet the diagnostic criteria about liver and stomach incoordination type from November 2013 to December 2014 gastroenterology clinic/ward in Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, and randomly divided into the study group and the control group with 36 cases in each(Each group included 32 cases at last). The study group was treated with Chaiban Decotion, the control group was treated with Lansoprazole and Mosapride. Both groups were treated with 4 weeks. Observed the results about GERDQ Scale, TCM Syndrome Scale, esophageal manometry and 24 hours PH monitoring before and after the treatment and analyzed with SPSS 17.0 statistical software. P>0.05 represent that data was statistically significant.Results:1.Comparison about reflux symptoms and TCM syndrome score:Both groups’ GERDQ Scale score and TCM Syndrome Scale Total score decreased significantly after treatment than before. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.01), which prompted that Two programs were both effective in improving symptoms. And according to the comparison between groups after treatment, the study group’s TCM Syndrome Scale Total score decreased more significantly (P<0.05), which explained the program of the study group was more effective than the control group. Thereby further analysis, in regard of the main syndrome score and the efficacy grade of TCM, there was no significant difference; however, the study group was more effective than the control group in regard of minor/merged syndrome, that’s why the study group was more effective than the control group in regard of decreasing TCM Syndrome Scale Total score.2. Comparison about the indicators of esophageal manometry:Both groups’ indicators about the lower esophageal sphincter resting pressure after treatment were higher than before. The differences were statistically significant, which prompted that two programs were both effective in improving the function of lower esophageal sphincter. And according to the comparison between groups after treatment, there was no significant difference among the two groups, which explained the two programs had equal efficacy in regard of improving the function of lower esophageal sphincter. In regard of esophageal motility, the study group made significant differences on synchronous contraction and invalid swallowing after the treatment. However, the control group only made difference on synchronous contraction and had no significant difference on invalid swallowing after the treatment. So we can explain Chaiban Decotion has significant advantage in regard of improving esophageal motility3. Comparison about 24 hours PH monitoring:Both groups’indicators about the acid reflux time, reflux episodes and DeMeester score after treatment were lower than before. The differences were statistically significant, which prompted that two programs were both effective in improving pathological acid reflux. And according to the comparison between groups after treatment, there was no significant difference among the two groups, which explained the two programs had equal efficacy in regard of improving pathological acid reflux. Conclusion:The result show that, Chaiban Decotion in the treatment of the liver and stomach incoordination type non-erosive reflux disease can better improve symptoms, enhance the function of lower esophageal sphincter, improve esophageal motility and control pathological acid reflux. Especially, Chaiban Decotion has significant advantage in regard of improving minor/merged syndrome and esophageal motility. The study confirms the exact effect of Chinese medicine treatment of non-erosive reflux disease, reflects the clinical value of Chaiban Decotion, which are worth of promotion.
