Objectivescerebrovascular stenosis or blocking is the main cause of ischemic cerebrovascular disease such as cerebral infarction. It can result in serious clinical results, which will not only affect the survival quality of patients, but may also cause heavy economy burden to family and society. Therefore, it is very important to prevent and treat cerebrovascular stenosis. TCM constitution is preponderant in the prevention and management of disease. This study is to discuss TCM constitution distribution rule of patients with cerebrovascular stenosis and intend to provide theory evidence for the prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular stenosis from the point of TCM constitution.MethodsThe patients were from Neurology Department of Guangdong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Jan 2014 to Jan 2015. The objects of study were determined according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study adopted the way of field investigation. The investigation tool is TCM constitution classification and judgment table. The general data of gender, age, medical history, etc, and bio-chemical data of blood fat, homocysteine, uric acid, etc. of patients were collected and analyzed. SPSS 19.0 software was used to analyze the data, while frequency description was used to enumerate the data. Chi-square test or nonparametric rank sum test was used to conduct difference analysis for comparison among the group.Results1. Among 174 cases of cerebrovascular stenosis patients, male 123 cases (70.70%), female 51 cases (39.30%); average age 62.62±10.57 years old. Smokers 76 cases,43.6%; drinkers 41 cases,23.56%; patients with hypertension 123 cases,70.69%; 55 patients with diabetes,31.61%; 137 patients with abnormal blood fat,78.74%; 58 patients with high uric acid,33.33%; 17 cases with homocysteine,9.77%.2. Among 174 cases cerebrovascular stenosis patients,295 stenosis or occlusive vessels, male 209, female 86. Anterior cycle lesion 166, among which, 71 with ICA lesion,82 with MCA,13 with arteria cerebri anterior. Posterior circulation lesions 129, among which,112 VA,17 basilar artery. Single-vessel 96 cases, male 70 cases, female 26 cases; multi-vessel 78 cases, male 53 cases, female 25 cases. Among 174 patients,7 cases with light degree stenosis,30 cases with middle degree stenosis,73 cases with serious degree stenosis,64 cases with blocking.3. The level of UA, TG, TC, LDL, HDL, HCY among different degrees vessel stenosis and the risk factors of diabetes, hyperuricemia, men smoking, men drinking among different degrees vessel stenosis had no statistical meaning.4. The smoking and drinking ratio of male was evidently higher than that of female; the average attack age of female was older than that of male. The difference of risk factors, including diabetes, blood fat, hyperuricemia, high homocysteine, between male and female had no statistical meaning.5. Among cerebrovascular stenosis patients, multi-vessel stenosis with hypertension proportion was evidently higher than single-vessel stenosis (p <0.001); male multi-vessel cerebrovascular stenosis smokers ratio was higher than that of single-vessel stenosis (p= 0.034<0.05).6. Among 174 cases of cerebrovascular stenosis patients, phlegm-dampness constitution 68 cases (39.08%), blood stasis constitution 42 cases (24.14%), vital energy deficiency constitution 15 cases (8.62%), yin-deficiency constitution 30 cases (17.24%), yang-deficiency constitution 4 cases (2.30%), dampness-heat constitution 6 cases (3.45%), mild constitution 8 cases (4.60%), qi depression constitution 1 case (0.57%), tebing constitution 0 case. The TCM constitution distribution difference of various stenosis degree had no statistical meaning.7. Among 174 cases of cerebrovascular stenosis patients, top three constitutional types of male and female were phlegm-dampness constitution, blood stasis constitution and yin-deficiency constitution. Among 123 cases of male patients, phlegm-dampness constitution 48 cases (39.02%), blood stasis constitution 31 cases (25.20%), yin-deficiency constitution 22 cases (17.88%); among 51 cases of female patients, phlegm-dampness constitution 20 cases (39.22%), blood stasis constitution 11 cases (21.57%), yin-deficiency constitution 11 cases (15.69%). The constitution distribution comparison of male and female had no statistical meaning.8. Among 96 cases of single-vessel cerebrovascular stenosis patients, the top three TCM constitution were separately phlegm-dampness constitution, blood stasis constitution and yin-deficiency constitution, among which, phlegm-dampness constitution 40 cases (41.67%), blood stasis constitution 16 cases (20.53%), yin-deficiency constitution 12 cases (12.5%); Among 78 cases of multi-vessel cerebrovascular stenosis patients, the top three TCM constitution were phlegm-dampness constitution 28 cases (35.90%), yin-deficiency constitution 18 cases (23.08%), blood stasis constitution 11 cases (21.57%). The constitution distribution comparison of single-vessel and multi-vessel had no statistical meaning.9. Among 120 cases of anterior circulationl cerebrovascular stenosis patients, the top three TCM constitution were separately phlegm-dampness constitution, blood stasis constitution and yin-deficiency constitution, among which, phlegm-dampness constitution 49 cases (40.83%), blood stasis constitution 31 cases (25.83%), yin-deficiency constitution 18 cases (15%); Among 97 cases of posterior circulation cerebrovascular stenosis patients, the top three TCM constitution were phlegm-dampness constitution 30 cases (31.25%), yin-deficiency constitution 24 cases (22.92%), blood stasis constitution 22 cases (22.92%). The constitution distribution comparison of anterior circulationl and posterior circulation had no statistical meaning.Conclusions1. Smoking and hypertension can be risk factors of cerebrovascular multivessel stenosis lesion.2. Phlegm-dampness constitution, blood stasis constitution and yin-deficiency constitution are the risk factors of cerebrovascular stenosis.3. The level of UA, TG, TC, LDL, HDL, HCY among different degrees vessel stenosis and the risk factors of diabetes, hyperuricemia, men smoking, men drinking among different degrees vessel stenosis had no statistical meaning.4. There is no statistical significance meaning in distribution difference of different degree of hemadostenosis patients’constitution, in distribution difference of single-vessel and multi-vessel cerebrovascular stenosis patients’constitution and in distribution difference of anterior circulationl and posterior circulation cerebrovascular stenosis patients’ constitution.
