Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of Yin-Reducing and Yang-supplementing acupuncture on the spastic paralysis of stroke patients, to make evaluation and comparison among the methods of Yin-Reducing and Yang-supplementing acupuncture, routine acupuncture by clinical limb spasticity index, the degree of dysfunction and activities of daily living. Compare the clinical therapeutic effect of two kinds of treatment and explore its possible acting mechanism, so as to optimize the clinical treatment. Methods:A total of 60 the spastic paralysis of stroke patients were randomized into Yin-Reducing and Yang-supplementing acupuncture(treatment group)and routine acupuncture(controlled group),30 cases in each group. On the foundation treatment of Head and neck acupuncturehead, using the Yin-Reducing and Yang-supplementing acupuncture to treat treatment group, using the routine acupuncture to treat controlled group, For the treatment group, using tonifying techniques of lifting-thrusting methods for Points at Yang lateral Every morning and using Purging techniques of lifting-thrusting methods for points at Yin lateral Every afternoon, once every 10 minutes. For the controlled group, using equal tonifying and Purging method, and the needles remain for 30 minutes. In the morning and afternoon treatment once a day,6 days for a period of treatment, continuously 10 courses of treatment and each course rest 1 day. The evaluation of the functional rehabilitation was carried out by the methods of Ashworth, SIAS and Barthel indexResult:1. After treatment, Ashworth score of both groups decreased (P<0.05), The score of SIAS and Barthel index scale increased(P<0.05), all demonstrated statistical significance.2. According to the results of evaluation of rehabilitation, with a significant difference between the two groups (p<0.05).Conclusions:1. The acupuncture method of Yin-Reducing and Yang-supplementing can improve clinical limb spasticity index, the degree of dysfunction and activities of daily living.2. The acupuncture method of Yin-Reducing and Yang-supplementing has advantage to compare with the routine acupuncture on improve clinical limb spasticity index, the degree of dysfunction and activities of daily living.
