Objective: To investgate the association between the subclasses of high density lipoprotein(HDL) and glycated hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c) in metabolic syndrome(MS).Methods: Concentration of Hb A1 c was assayed by HPLC, concentrations of lipids, glucose and apolipoproteins in plasma were detected by automated biochemical analyzer, and the concentrations of lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase(LCAT) and cholesteryl ester transfer protein(CETP) in plasma were measured by ELISA Kits, the subclasses of plasma HDL were determined by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis conjunction with immunodetection method.Results:1. Compared with control, the levels of glycated hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c), fasting plasma glucose(FPG), total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), apolipoprotein B100(apo B100), preβ1-HDL, HDL3 b, apo B100/AI and LDL-C/HDL-C were significantly increased in MS(P<0.01), while plasma concentrations of high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), apolipoprotein AI(apo AI), HDL2 b and HDL2 a were significantly decreased in MS(P<0.01), LCAT and CETP have no statistical difference.2. With the increasing of Hb A1 c levels in MS, the concentrations of FPG, TC and TG were significantly elevated, while HDL-C were decreased, apo AI has no statistical difference.3. Preβ1-HDL was significantly elevated, while HDL2 a and HDL2 b were decreased, with the increasing of Hb A1 c levels in MS.Conclusion: The increased levels of Hb A1 c can aggravate the maturation of HDL metabolism in MS.
