Objective: To analyze the relationship between the omentin-1 levels and blood lipids, the subclasses of high density lipoprotein(HDL). And investgate the association between the distribution of subclasses of HDL and omentin-1 in metabolic syndrome(MS) patients, and provide a theoretical basis to determine the risk of the MS patients with atherosclerosis(AS) and cardiovascular disease(CHD).Method: Plasma concentrations of omentin-1 was assayed by ELISA Kits, the subclasses of plasma HDL were determined by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis conjunction with immunodetection method, concentrations of lipids and apolipoproteins in plasma were detected by automated biochemical analyzer.Results:1. Compared with control, the levels of plasma triglyceride(TG), fasting plasma glucose(FPG), total cholesterol(TC), systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), waist circumference(WC), body mass index(BMI), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), preβ1-HDL, HDL3 b, apoB100/AI and LDL-C/HDL-C, apolipoprotein B100(apoB100) were significantly increased in MS subjects(P < 0.01), while plasma concentrations of high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), apolipoprotein AI(apoAI), HDL2 b, HDL2 a and omentin-1 were decreased significantly.2. With the decreasing of plasma omentin-1 levels in MS subjects, the concentrations of TG, FPG, TC, SBP, DBP, WC, BMI, LDL-C, apoB100, LDL-C/HDL-C and apoB100/apoAI, preβ1-HDL were significantly elevated(P < 0.01), and the concentrations of HDL-C, apoAI and HDL2b、HDL2a were decreased significantly(P < 0.01).3. The concentrations of preβ1-HDL was significantly elevated, while HDL2 a and HDL2 b were decreased significantly, with the increasing of metabolic risk factor and decreasing of plasma omentin-1 levels in MS subjects. Conclusion: With the increasing of metabolic risk factor, the plasma omentin-1 levels and the HDL particles decrease in MS, omentin-1 concentration is negatively correlated with small preβ1-HDL particles and it is also positively associated with large HDL2 b particles.
