Ainsliaea glabra Hemsl. is one genus of AinMiaea DC, which belongs to the composite family. The whole plant of Ainsliaea glabra Hemsl. is one of domestic Chinese herb called tuerfeng, it also known as xinfeicao or shifengdan in sichuan province. This traditional Chinese medicine having been used by Chinese people for thousands of year to cure the diseases in lung and it was also recorded in book called emeiyaozhi that this herb can treat the bruises.Many researches on the plants in the genus of AinMiaea DC have been to date, it comes out that the sesquiterpenes in the Ainsliaea plants have significant anti-tumor effect and the extraction from some plants can get cell out of bacteria and viruses. The application of the Ainsliaea plants also show that they have a good action on anti-inflammatory activities. But the study of Ainsliaea glabra Hemsl. have not found so far, and this herb is widely uesd in some part of China. So it is necessary to pay attention on this domestic Chinese herb, in some way it is important for the development of new anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory drugs.In this paper we learned the pharmacognostical characteristics of Ainsliaea glabra Hemsl. by traits microscopic features, and apply the cryo-sectioning technique in the making of botany tissues. At the same time, we the separate and purificate ethanol fraction by using different kinds of chromatographic technologies incuding silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20and MCI column chromatography. Spectral analysis technology, including NMR and MS, along with chemical methods were employed in identifying the structure of compounds. At present,34compounds were isolated and identified as Ag-1:taraxasteryl acetate, Ag-2:dotriacont-1-ene, Ag-3:lupenyl palmitate, Ag-4:chrysophanol, Ag-5:methyl linolenate, Ag-6:linoleic acid, Ag-7: phytol, Ag-8:stigmast-4-en-3-one, Ag-9:phytenal, Ag-10:palmitate, Ag-11:2,7-Dimethyl-1-tetralone, Ag-12:ocatadecadienoic acid, Ag-13:betulinic acid, Ag-14:(3β-hydroxy-cholesta-5-ene, Ag-15:epoxylycopaene, Ag-16:28-O-laurylbetulin, Ag-17:(4E,6Z,10Z)-hexadeca-4,6,10-trien-1-ol, Ag-18:Beilschmin B, Ag-19: palmitic acid. Ag-20:taraxinic, Ag-21:Sitosterol, Ag-22*:2-(7-methyl-4-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-yl)acrylic acid, Ag-23:trilinoleinl, Ag-24*:3-methyl-2-oxo-7-(prop-1-en-2-yl)-6-vinyloctahydrobenzofuran-6-carboxylic acid, Ag-25:(R,8E,10E)-heptadeca-8,10-diene-1,14-diol, Ag-26:(,S,10E,12Z)-octadeca-10,12- diene-1,9-diol, Ag-27:(3β,5α,6α,22E)-ergosta-7,22-diene-3,5,6-triol, Ag-28:7-octenoic acid,6-hydroxy-2,6-dimethy, Ag-29:diethylhexyl phthalate, Ag-30:di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, Ag-31:(+)-dehydrovomifoliol, Ag-32:Loliolide, Ag-33:(3S,5R,6S,7E)-3,5,6-trihydroxy-7-megastigmen-9-one, Ag-34:(E)-2,6-dimethoxy-4-(3-(3-methylbutanoyloxy)prop-1-enyl)phenyl3-methybutanoate. Ag-22and Ag-24were identfied to be new compounds. All of Ag-1-34were isolated from Ainsliaea glabra Hemsl. for the first time.
