Objective:To evaluate the relathionship between serum follistatin level and endometriosis, and to evaluate serum follistatin level associated with the diagnosis of ovarian endometriosis.Methods:We selected50cases of endometriosis in patients with fasting peripheral blood samples of experimental group,30cases ovarian endometriosis and20cases other endometriosis are included in the experimental group,other kinds of endometriosis includes10cases of adenomyosis,6cases of abdominal wall scar EMT and4cases of pelvic EMT. Selected blood samples of the30cases of ovarian benign tumor as control group,the blood samples of50normal healthy female in the fourteenth or fifteenth day of menstrual cycle was taken as normal control group. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and electro chemiluminescence immunoassay was used to detect levels of follistatin and cancer antigen125(CA125) in sera of fifty women with endometriosis, thirty women with ovarian benign tumors and fifty healthy women(the control).Results:Comparing with the ovarian benign tumor and normal group, serum follistatin of ovarian endometriosis has a significant difference(P<0.05).Comparing with the ovarian benign tumor and normal group,serum CA125of ovarian endometriosis has a significant differeernce(P<0.001), but compare with other kinds of endometriosis,it has no noable difference.(P=0.295).Conclusion:Serum follistatin levels of endometriosis(especially ovarian endometriosis) are significantly elevated. Serum follistatin testing for diagnosis of endometriosis may have a considerable value.
