Objectives: To compare the biomechanical performances of three fixationsmethods for tibial eminence avulsion fracture. Methods: Fifteen fresh knee joint cadavers were randomly divided averageinto three groups, of which one group fixed with two absorbable double sutureanchors as A group, one group fixed with steel wire as B group, one group fixed withhollow tension screw as C group. Fifteen fresh knee joint cadavers wereestablished the modle of Meyers-Mckeever type ⅢB fracture model, with thefracture block wideness2cm, length2cm and thickness1cm. The ends of thespecimens were fixed firmly fixed on the INSTRON5887electronic universalmaterial testing machine, load applied to0N~300N grading load, with the strainrate of14mm/min, conducted uniaxial tensile test specimens. Uni-axle tensile testwere performed on the biomechanical experiment machine at stress of50N、100N、150N for the measurement for the fracture displacement and the cadaver’s out-of-runload. Using SPSS17.0software analysis all data and comparing the results of twogroups with independent samples T-test.Results:At50N、100N or150N load, there are significant differences betweenthe group fixed with two absorbable double suture anchors and the group fixed withsteel wire or fixed with hollow tension screw(P<0.05).The displacement of thegroup fixed with two absorbable double suture anchors is least,so it’s fixing isstrongest. At50N、100N or150N load, there are no significant differences betweenthe group fixed with steel wire and fixed with hollow tension screw(P>0.05).Ultimate load of the group fixed with two absorbable double sutureanchors is greater than the the group fixed with steel wire or fixed with hollowtension screw(P<0.05),and there are have no significant differences between the group fixed with steel wire and fixed with hollow tension screw(P>0.05).conclution:The fixation biomechanical stiffness of two absorbable doublesuture anchors was better than of steel wire or hollow tension screw. But the fixationbiomechanical stiffness of steel wire and hollow tension screw have no difference.
