Characteristics Of Professor Cheng Wei’s Prescriptions For The Treatment Of Chronic Heart Failure

Objectives:This thesis aims at revealing the therapeutic thinking on chronic heart failure(CHF) and the characteristics of prescription of my academic adviser, Professor Chen Wei, via retrospective review on the progress of treatment for CHF by my Prof. Chen, as well as his twenty years of clinical experience under systematical analysis, so as to provide guidance for clinical treatment for CHF.Methods:1. Systematical review on Chinese ancient literature, published paper nowadays, as well as domestic and international publications and reports on the knowledge of CHF.2. Clinical study under the guidance from Prof. Chen. Integrate the theoretical studying and clinical practice through summarization the clinical thinking of Prof. Chen on the treatment for CHF.3. Check the knowledge learned with clinical practice after systematical review on my adviser’s experience and prescriptions.Results:Via literature review on the knowledge and treatment of CHF andsummarization of Prof. Chen’s clinical experience, as well as studying from my adviser clinically, the experience and characteristics of Prof. Chen’s treatment for CHF has been worked out.Conclusion:It is the key role of differentiating deficiency/excess and etiology in the treatment for CHF, of which Bian Zheng Lun Zhi(Treatment based on the syndrome differentiation) should be put in the first place. Clinically, deficiency should be tonified. It emphasizes the importance of the Spleen and the Stomach, which usually are treated together with mother and son organs. Fluid of the Heart should not be consumed to avoid deterioration, therefore removing lung edema or expelling edema with warming the kidneys are the common treatment. It should not abide by the limitation of one drug or one formula only, instead, one should prescribe flexibly during clinical application to reflex the advantageous theory of “treating disease aiming at the pathological nature”.
