Meanwhile, to look for a comprehensive therapy which is more targeted and effective. Methods: To divide 60 patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome(hepatic stasis spleen deficiency syndrome) into two groups randomly- the warm acupuncture group and the EA group, 30 cases in each group. Both groups were treated three times in one week, six times for a period of treatment. Each one was treated two consecutive course. Patients were asked to rest 2 or 3 days between the courses. Based on the IBS score sheet of the main symptoms and SF- 36 assessment scale of life quality, to record and evaluate the scores before and after treatment.Results:(1) Effective rate: warm acupuncture group total effective rate was 93.3%, the EA group total effective rate was 86.7%, difference between two groups was no significant(P>0.05).(2) The main symptom scores: warm acupuncture group and EA group were compared within the group before and after treatment, there were significant differences(P<0.05); warm acupuncture group improved more notable than EA group after a course of treatment in the degree and frequency of abdominal pain, bloating, anxiety, paranoid, etc(P<0.05); After two courses of treatment, warm acupuncture group improved better than EA group in the degree and frequency of abdominal pain, bloating, loose stools uncomfortable, upset, insomnia and other symptoms(P<0.05);(3) SF- 36 assessment scale of life quality: warm acupuncture group and EA group were compared within the group before and after the treatment, two groups existed significant difference(P<0.05); warm acupuncture group is better than EA group in five dimensions contain body pain, vitality, social function, mental health, physical health after treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: Both methods are effective in the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
