Objective:Ovarian Dysgerminoma is one of the ovarian germ cell tumors, The diagnosis of this disease relies mainly on the placenta serum alkaline phosphatase(PLAP),clinical manifestations and radiological information, pathological diagnosis is needed to make a definite diagnosis.Using immunohistochemistry can improve the diagnostic accuracy. This experiment is aimd to study expression of OCT4 in ovarian dysgerminoma, analysis clinical significance, further clarify the diagnosis and differential diagnosis, provide a theoretical basis for follow-up treatment and prognosis guidance. Methods:The pathological specimens of 23 cases ovarian dysgerminoma form Shanxi Province tumor hospital were selected. Age distribution:9-37 years old,the average age:23 years old. All cases were diagnosed as ovarian dysgerminoma by pathologists. In addition, 6 immature teratoma,15 mature teratoma,16 Yolk sac tumor were retrieved for this study. The expression of OCT4 in ovarian dysgerminoma, immature teratoma, teratoma and Yolk sac tumor were detected by SP immunohistochemical method,PLAP was also detected in ovarian dysgerminoma to compared with OCT4.Results:(1)The expression of OCT4 was present in all 23 cases of ovarian dysgerminoma(positive incidence:100%),and each case had high intensity of positive expression. But no expression was present in other common OGCT.(2)In ovarian dysgerminoma,OCT4 had high intensity of positive expression. 7 cases had(++),16 cases had(+++),but the expression of PLAP in ovarian dysgerminoma was relatively weak,2 cases had(-),6 cases had(+),10 cases had(++),5 cases had(+++),OCT4 had higher intensity expression than PLAP in ovarian dysgerminoma(P<0.01); There was no obviously correlation in the intensity of positive between OCT4 and PLAP(p>0.05).Conclusions:(1) OCT4 could as a favorable pathology diagnosis basis for ovarian dysgerminoma, also contribute to other OGCT types of pathological specimens further diagnosis and differential diagnosis.(2)In immunohistochemical staining analysis, OCT4 had higher intensity expression in ovarian dysgerminoma than PLAP. There was no obviously correlation in the intensity of positive between OCT4 and PLAP.
