| Objective:The aim of this thesis is to discuss and conclude the clinical effectiveness, reliability and safety of mesenchymal stem cells(hereinafter known as MSC) on ulcerative colitis(hereinafter known as UC).methodology :adopted in this thesis is a comparison between cell treatment group(8 cases) and standardized drug treatment group(9 cases) such that are distributed randomly according to the principle of voluntariness. The 17 cases are chosen from clinical UC during October2012 and June 2013 at the department of General Surgery in the Second Clinical hospital of Shanxi Medical University. The total of 17 cases are approved by the Hospital Ethics Committee, and the informed consents are signed by the related patients and their families.The cell treatment group uses autologous cells that have been amplified in vitro, and multipoint-injected under local submucosal with direct enteroscope view. The injection volume is about 1.0×107 cells per point, with every 30 days per injection, 3 injections in all.Results:Drug treatment group takes standardized drug treatment. The results of cell treatment group are: 5 cases have reached complete remission, 2 cases partial remission, with 100%effective rate. The results of drug treatment group are: 6 cases have reached complete remission, 3 partial remission but 1 no remission, with 90% effective rate. Follow-up visit in 3 to 14 months to cell treatment group shows: none of the 5 cases with complete remission have reoccurrence and neither of the 3 cases with partial remission haveaggravation. While to the drug treatment group, 3 out of the 9 cases with complete or partial remission have reoccurrence in the second month and another 4 have reoccurrence in the third, fifth and tenth month respectively.Conclusion:MSC treatment is effective, reliable and safe than drug treatment... |
