The Retrospectively Study Of Leucopenia Caused By Chemotherapy Treated With Hualiaojiandutang

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of TCM herbal formula " HualiaojianduTang" in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced leucopenia during oncotherapy.Method:Collecting clinnical data of 892 cases of patients with malignant tumor in accordance with the inclusion criteria who had received chemotherapy in the affiliated hospital of Chengdu University of TCM department of oncology from August 2010 to August 2014. Firstly grouping patients by different types of cancer. All patients were divided into nine groups:group 1(120 cases of small cell lung cancer),group 2 (102 cases of non-small cell lung cancer), group 3 (96 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC)), group 4 (84 cases of gastric cancer), group 5(102 cases of esophageal cancer), group 6 (140 cases of rectal cancer), group 7 (78 cases of cervical cancer), group 8(82 cases of ovarian cancer), group 9 (88 cases of breast cancer). Secondly according to whether patients had recieved TCM herbal treatment flualiaojiandutang" formula in the process of chemotherapy, each of the nine groups were divided into subgroup A (experimental group:chemotherapy+TCM) and subgroup B (control group: chemotherapy group only):A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9 and Bl, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8, B9. Group A Patients recieved TCM herbal treatment "Hualiaojiandutang" formula from one day before the first periodchemotherapy to the tenth day after the second periodchemotherapy. Collecting clinnical data of blood leukocyte count (one day before chemotherapy、the third day after、the tenth day after) of each periodchemotherapy; the application of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (GSF) during the study;the score of Karnofsky and primary symptom and score of TCM symptom one day before the first periodchemotherapy and the tenth day after the second periodchemotherapy. Processing the datas with spss 19.0.Results:1. Difference of blood leukocyte count between group A and B was not statistically significant (P<0.05) on the third day and tenth day after the first periodchemotherapy;2.Difference of blood leukocyte count between group A and B was statistically significant (P<0.05) on the third day after the second period chemotherapy;3. Difference of blood leukocyte count between group A and B was not statistically significant (P> 0.05) on the tenth day after the second period chemotherapy;4. Difference of GSF application between group A and B was statistically significant (P< 0.05) during the study;5. Differences of improvement of KPS score and TCM symptom score were statistically significant (P< 0.05).Conclusion:TCM herbal treatment "Hualiaojiandutang" formula can obviously improve leucopenia in various types of tumor caused by chemotherapy, reduce the application of GSF, and advance life quality of patients.
