This thesis consists of three chapters, the first chapter studies on chemical constituents of Ardisia corymbifera Mez var. tuberifera C. Chen. The second chapter research chemical constituents on the barks of Voacanga africana Staph. percolated by ethyl acetate. The third chapter reviews monoterpenoid indole alkaloids and the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy characteristics in Voacanga africana staph.Myrsinaceae Ardisia plants are 500 species around the world, rich plant resources of Ardisia,68 species,12 varieties. This genus is mainly contains coumarin, phenols, flavonoids and triterpenoid saponins, the saponins compositions recently found have significant activity of anti-tumor and anti-HIV. Ardisia corymbifera Mez var. tuberifera C. Chen is a Guangxi provinces’folky medicine of Ardisia of Myrsinaceae. The medicine functions are relieving swelling and pain, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis and dispelling wind-dampness. Nine compounds were isolated from 80% ethanol extraction part of Ardisia corymbifera Mez var. tuberifera C. Chen by Mao Yanping and the others. In this paper further study on chemical constituents of 90% ethanol extracts of Ardisia corymbifera Mez var. tuberifera C. Chen led to eight compounds were isolated, their structures were elucidated as:(1) oleic acid, (2) palmitic acid, (3) stigmasterol, (4) α-spinasterol, (5) belamcandaquinone F, (6) (25,3S, 4R,10E>2-[(2/R)-2-hydroxytetracosanoylamino] 10-octadecene-1,3,4-triol, (7) ardisiacrispin A, (8) ardisiacrispin B. Compounds 1,2, 3,5,6,8were isolated from this plant for the first time.Voacanga africana Staph. belongs to genus Voacanga (Apocynaceae). It has been traditionally used for the treatment of leprosy, diarrheaa, generalized edema, convulsions in children, madness, diuretic and infant tonic. Nine compounds isolated from ethyl acetate extracts of Voacanga africana Staph. by normal phase silica gel, reversed phase silica gel (RP-8, RP-18), Sephadex LH-20, MCI column chromatography, preparation and recrystallization. Their structures were elucidated by spectral methods as:(1) boonein, (2) voacamine, (3) ibogamine-16-carboxylic acid, 17,20-didehydro-5,6-dioxo-10-methoxy-methyl ester, (4) vobasine, (5) 3-epivobasinol, (6) iboxigaina, (7) 3-oxo-19-epi-voacristine, (8) 19’(S)-hydroxyconodurine, (9) 19’(S)-hydroxyconoduramine. Compound 1 was isolated from this genus for the first time, compounds 3 is a new compound. This paper also do MTT assay on indole alkaloids isolated from voacanga africana Staph. by us.
