Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveTo investigate the epidemiological characteristics of thyroid nodules (TN) with healthy population in Guangxi.MethodsA total of 53540 cases of healthy population with thyroid US examination (Size, shape, number, echo, internal echo, blood supply, calcification) from January 2005 to June 2015 were included in this retrospective study.ResultThere were 13,366 cases of subjects with TN in all health crowd,6,442 cases had solitary nodule,6,924 cases had multiple nodules, the overall prevalence of TN was 24.96%; The prevalence of TN in females was significantly higher than that in males (32.87% VS 20.75%, P<0.05); The prevalence of TN increased significantly with increasing age (P<0.05), the highest prevalence of TN was between 70 and 80 years old.Conclusion1. In recent 10 years, morbidity of thyroid nodules showed a trend of increase, but not too much, the overall prevalence of TN was 24.96%.2. The prevalence of TN increased significantly with increasing age, reached the highest at 70~80 ages and it in females was significantly higher than that in males, multiple nodules number higher than that of single nodules.ObjectiveTo explore the risk factor for thyriod malignant nodules.MethodsAll cases of patients with TN who underwent thyroid surgery from January2010 to June 2015 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University were included in this retrospective study. The clinical and pathological data were collected to evaluate the characteristics of clinical epidemiology of patients with TN and identify the related clinical risk factors of MN. By description and Logistic analysis of the features of clinical epidemiology, and the patients’ laboratory examination, US and CT examination data to explore the factors of malignant nodules.ResultThere were 13,366 cases of subjects with TN, men have a higher risk than women in thyroid cancer(p<0.05); Younger has a higherrisk than olds(P<0.05); The han nationality had a higher risk than Zhuang people in Guangxi region(p<0.05);BMI has no related with thyrow cancer(p=0.162); Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is protection factor of papdlary thyroid cancer(p<0.05); By logistic regression analysis, vague margin[Wals=39.606,P<0.001 ], inhomogenous internal echoes [Wals=11.674,p=0.001],microcalcification [Wals=31.026, P<0.001], hypoechoic [Wals=120.985,P<0.001], irregular shape [Wals=33.625, P<0.001] US images and irregular nodular edge CT image [Wals=31.54, P< 0.001] were the risk factors for TC.Conclusion1. With the increase of incidence of thyroid cancer, our thyroid surgery rate also will increase,although malignant growth than those with small amplitude,but malignant than are still low(malignant ratio of 11.35% in 2010, 2014 malignant ratio is 22.35%); 2. The ban nationality had a higher risk than Zhuang people in Guangxi region, A high incidence of thyroid cancer is the age of 40 or so Although the number of patients are more women than men, male patients with thyroid nodules are more likely to canceration, clinical doctors should be concerned that. 3. High TSH concentrations can be used as a predictor of thyroid cancer, but the specific classification still needs further research, In addition,Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is protection factor of papillary thyroid cancer; 4.Ultrasonography in benign and malignant thyroid nodules identify has clinical significance, these microcalcification, hypoechoic, inhomogenous internal echoes, irregular shape, vague margin, solitary nodule were the risk factors for TC, The highly correlated to the low echo; Irregular nodular edge CT image is associated with thyroid carcinoma.
