Part one The effect of sodium calcium edentate on blood elements in lead poisoning childrenObjective: In the order to provide theoretical basis for the chelation therapy and essential trace elements supplement, the change of the pre- and post-treatment of lead, magnesium, calcium, iron, copper and zinc were analyzed. Methods: According to the principle of informed consent, the lead poisoning children of Xinhua hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University were collected in specific periods. According to the diagnostic criteria for lead poisoning, 34 lead poisoning children whose blood lead level is greater than or equal to 250μg /L were treated with Ca Na2 EDTA in the hospital. Results: The post-treatment blood lead, magnesium, calcium, iron, copper and zinc levels were significantly lower than pre-treatment(t were 13.463, 6.440,4.158,3.762,2.595,5.723; P<0.05). After repeated data of variance analysis, severe lead poisoning children ’s blood lead level decreased more significantly than moderate lead poisoning after Ca Na2 EDTA chelation(F=26.500,P<0.05). High levels of magnesium, calcium, iron, copper, zinc drop degree was higher than low group(F were17.943, 54.944, 15.110, 37.303, 14.329; P<0.05). The decline range of each metal element was Pb>Zn>Fe>Mg>Cu.Conclusion: Ca Na2 EDTA chelation therapy could cause the body of a variety of other essential elements lost. So it should be considered to monitor the change of other elements while Ca Na2 EDTA chelation was repeated. And if the levels were lower than normal levels, it should be supplemented.Part two The blood levels and related factors of preschool children in rural areaObjective: This study was to understand the main living sources of children with lead poisoning, the population characteristics of children with lead poisoning, and provide the basis for knowing the cause for lead poisoning. Methods: According to the principle of informed consent, the children in a kindergarten were collected blood. The blood lead and other elements levels were detected. Results: The average blood lead level of 102 cases was(105.35±91.71) μg/L. There were 60 boys. Their average blood lead level was( 108.08 ±100.51)μg/L, and lead poisoning rate was 38.3%. There were 42 girls. Their average blood lead level was(101.46 ±78.46) μg/L, and lead poisoning rate was 45.2%. There was no significant differences in blood levels of boys and girls(t=0.128, P>0.05). There were no significant differences in of lead poisoning rate of boys and girls(χ2=0.486, P>0.05). The lead poisoning rate of children aged 3~4 years old, ~5 years old and ~6 years old was 16.7%, 15.7%and 8.8% respectively. There were no significant differences in of lead poisoning rate of different age groups(χ2=0.503, P>0.05). There were no significant differences in blood levels of different age groups(F=1.228, P>0.05). There 80 cases with the use of the red lead power. Their average blood lead level was(121.57±96.64) μg/L. There 22 cases without the use of the red lead power. Their average blood lead level was(46.39±25.97) μg/L. There were significant differences between the groups(t=12.969, P<0.001). After logistic regression, the risk factors were the use of red lead powder, the use of plastic cutlery, and not washing hand frequently. The rate of children with lead poisoning who use the red lead powder was higher than children who didn‘t use red lead powder(B=3.185, P<0.05). The rate of children with lead poisoning who use the plastic cutlery was higher than children who didn‘t use plastic cutlery(B=2.007, P<0.05). The rate of children with lead poisoning who didn‘t wash hand frequently was higher than children who wash hand frequently(B=2.007,P<0.05). The average blood zinc level of the children with lead poisoning was lower than that in normal group(t=3.857,P<0.001).Conclusion: The using red lead powder is one of the essential factors for lead poisoning in children. The using plastic cutlery can be elevated blood lead level of children. It could reduce the children‘s blood lead level to wash hands thoroughly with liquid soap..
