The method of six portions pulse diagnose organs’diseases was from Classic on Medical Problems, and had a great development in Canon of Pulsology. The eighteen of Classic on Medical Problems associated six portions of right and left cun, guan, chi with twelve meridians, and gave a new meaning to three portions and nine locations for pulse feeling is that the cun, guan, chi sites of cunkou are palpated with light, moderate and heavy pressure to get nine aspects of the pulse condition, in order to diagnose the upper, middle and lower’s diseases of human body. It was been two theories, three portions pulse diagnose human body’s upper, middle and lower’s diseases and six portions pulse diagnose meridians and zang-fu’s diseases. The theories developed together, but the relationship between six portions and zang-fu make an issue after the book of Canon of Pulsology. The method of six portions pulse diagnose organs’diseases has long history, extensive influence, widely used, and with an important role in the diagnosis. Due to the disagreement, it perplexed doctors, and was difficult to distinguish what is right and what is wrong. So, carding origin of the theory roundly and clarify matters and get to the bottom of it were very important. This thesis cards origin, analyzes application in clinic, and discussed the basic theory of it by literature research methods. The aim is to analyze and compare of the two theories, to definite application scope, and to analyze the inter-relationship of the two theories, in order to provide reference for clinical application of modern and for research of meridians theory, pulse theory, zangfu theory and so on.This thesis has five parts following:1 Elaborate basic theory of the method of six portions pulse diagnoses organs’ diseases. Cunkou pulse method was based on the theory of twelve meridians circulation flow. Qi and blood flow in twelve meridians, cross through five zang and six fu, and then go back to cunkou. So cunkou can diagnose the recovery or aggravation of organs. The length of cunkou is one cun and nine fens. Cunkou is divided into three parts named cun, guan, and chi. Cun diagnoses yang diseases and chi diagnoses yin diseases. Guan is in the middle of cun and chi. there are six portions in hands to weigh the quality of qi and blood of meridians and organs.2 Card origin of six portions pulse’s deduction, express the definition and the meaning of the two theories.Based on the book of Classic on Medical Problems, the method of six portions pulse diagnose organs’diseases develops to two theories. One divides cunkou in three portions to correspond human body’s upper, middle, and lower, and it is approved of by doctors in all ages. The other one divides cunkou in six portions to correspond twelve meridians and zangfu, which makes a great issue in history. The disagreement concentrates mainly in six fu. The most conversant relationship of six portions and organs for people is that heart, small intestine, liver, gallbladder and kidney belong to left hand, and lung, large intestine, spring, stomach and mingmen belong to right hand. Hua Shou thought mingmen and triple-jiao should belong to right chi and let pericardium belong to right chi; Zhang Jingyue thought small intestine should belong to right chi and large intestine should belong to left chi, which are belonging to right and left cun; Li Zhongzhi let small intestine to left chi and large intestine to right chi, and adds danzhong and thorax cavity to left and right cun.Carding origin and development of the method of six portions pulse diagnose organs’diseases reveals that the deduction of it is with the characteristics of the times. Before Song dynasty, the mingmen was right kidney, which belongs to right chi, and the meridians to right chi were the kidney meridian of foot shaoyin and the urinary bladder meridian of foot taiyang(except in Classic on Medical Problems). In Song, Jin, and Yuan dynasty, due to development of Mingmen theory, mingmen means pericardium and triple-jiao, communicating with kidney qi, and the meridians to right chi were the pericardium meridian of hand jueyin and the sanjiao meridian of hand shaoyang. In Ming and Qing dynasty, affected by thought of restoring ancient ways, doctors had new cognitions for mingmen theory, so kidney belongs to left and right chi. In the same time, the disagreement of small and large intestine has beginning.3 Analyze application of the two theories in clinic. Select, count and analyze literature of pulse in all ages, and then give a brief description of the two theories clinical application, and sum up their academic characteristics.Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Diseases and Miscellaneous Diseases, compiled by Zhang Zhongjing, has accumulated a lot of clinical experience for formation and development of the method of six portions pulse diagnoses organs’diseases. After the book of Canon of Pulsology, the two theories developed together. The two theories’ clinical application in the book of Pulse Formulas of Wang Shuhe compiled by Gao Yangsheng and the book of A Guide to Diagnosis of Diseases compiled by Shi Fa is representative, and it can present the developing and applied situation in ancient. In the book of Canon of Pulsology, the two theories are different pulse method. But after that, they are integrated. For the portion dividing, there are two types. But for the pulse method, there is pulse shape method of the three portions pulse. And it contacts the pulse shape method to the six portions pulse. On the contrary, the contrast method for the six portions pulse in Canon of Pulsology isn’t developed.4 Analyze the influencing factor of The method of six portions pulse diagnose organs’diseases development. Analyze deeply the disagreement and search factors which may have an important impact on it.In this thesis, there are two factors for it. One is the structure of meridians-zangfu theory. The meridians theory and zangfu theory were originally two independent development theories, but they were integrated later and developed into meridians-zangfu theory. Even though the form of it is nearly perfect, there still have many defects in clinical application. In the course of meridians-zangfu theory formation, yin meridians were contacted to five zang first, and then yang meridians were contacted to six fu. So the relationship between yang meridians and six fu is not as close as it between yin meridians and five zang is, especial between yang meridians of hand and small intestine, large intestine, triple-jiao. The appearance and the complicated evolution process of the six portions pulse is a typical example of the separation between theory and practice of meridians. The other one is mingmen theory. Mingmen theory’s development has a deep influence to the evolution of zangfu belongs to right chi. In Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor, mingmen is eye; in Classic on Medical Problem, mingmen means right kidney; after Song dynasty, mingmen was developed into mingmen theory. There are so many meanings for mingmen. Mingmen theory’s development has a great effect on right chi, their developing curves are similar. The study result is said that mingmen’s meaning in mingmen theory is different with it in Canon of Pulsology, the same situation also includes pericardium and triple-jiao. So the understanding of related concepts by doctors who lived in different ages of physicians on is also an important factor affecting the evolution of the method of six portions pulse diagnose organs’ diseases.5 Discuss some related problems. This part mainly talks about the relationship between ying-wei theory and cunkou pulse method, the deduction of pulse shape and types of pulse for zangfu’s diagnosis, and taisu pulse, in order to supplement the deficiency of the foregoing discussion. At first, qi and blood’s circulation flow of ying-wei theory make an important role in the construction of twelve meridians cyclic type. At second, there are many ancient pulse methods existing together in Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor, and there is only cunkou pulse method in Classic on Medical Problem. The relationship between pulse method and organs has changed; there are two types five zang pulse-shape method and five zang pulse-position method. They are both transplanted to cunkou pulse method. At third, Taisu pulse is one of the many genres of cunkou pulse. It not only can diagnose people’s diseases but also can predict people’s weal and woe. Although the pulse method contains certain physiognomic content, but the content of the medical diagnosis is worthy of reference, which has important reference valueThe development of the method of six portions pulse diagnoses organs’diseases after Canon of Pulsology has a great influence on cunkou pulse. So research it is beneficial to us to definite scope in clinical application of the two theories, and to improve the accuracy of clinical diagnosis, and to provide reference for the clinical application of pulse diagnosis and standardization. At the same time, the evolution of it is close to the deduction of the meridians and zangfu theory, so also can provide reference in the related field research.
