Object:The differences in prevalence rates between 2-DM patients and non 2-DM patients of xeroma, and related indicators to analyze the influence of xeroma in 2-DM. To provide reference for clinical prevention and control of xeroma. Methods: 178 cases(178 eyes) patients were selected in our hospital department of Endocrinology and outpatient medical center from March 2014 to May 2015, and divided into observation group and control group according to whether the 2-DM. The observation group of 80 cases(80 eyes) on the basis of medical history and laboratory diagnosis of 2-DM. The control group of 98 cases(98 eyes) and all excluded from 2-DM. According to the diagnostic criteria of xeroma, two groups of patients of tear film rupture time(BUT), basal tear secretion(Schirmer I test, corneal fluorescein staining(FLS) and subjective symptoms in check, respectively. Statistical analysis of two groups of patients with the prevalence of xeroma. The patients in the observation group were based on age, gender, disease factors and blood glucose level group,(1)Age: according to the age of the patients will be divided into young group(30-49 years old)(24 cases) and elderly group(50-69 years old)(34 cases), aged group(>70 years old)(22 cases).(2)The gender factor: according to gender were divided into male group(39 cases) and female group(41 cases).(3)The duration of factors: according to the duration of diabetes patients were divided into <5 group(19 cases), 5-10 group(37 cases) and >10 group(24 cases).(4)The blood glucose level: glycated hemoglobin(Hb A1c) value as a measure of the standard, divided into-,), 34 cases of middle level group(7.1-9%) and high level group >9%(40 cases of low level group(4-7%)(6 cases). Statistical comparison of the prevalence of xeroma differences. Results: 1 2-DM patients with xeroma prevalence was significantly higher than that in non 2-DM group. The study group of 80 cases, 39 cases were diagnosed as xeroma, the prevalence rate was 49%(39/80), The control group of 98 cases, diagnosis of xeroma in 28 cases, the prevalence rate was 29%(28/98).the prevalence rate was statistically significant(P<0.01). 2 2-DM patients tear film break-up time reference measurement and tear secretion test results were significantly lower than those in the non DM group. Meanwhile the plain of corneal fluorescence staining examination were significantly higher than those in the non DM group. The research group BUT(8.63 + 4.63)( sx ±,s), and control group BUT(10.76 + 3.75)( sx ±,s), according to the P<0.05 standard test, two patients in group BUT were significant difference(P<0.05). Schirmer of the study group I(7.54 + 4.05)( sx ±,mm/5min), the control group for Schirmer I(11.06 + 4.04)( sx ±,mm/5min), according to the P<0.05 standard test, two groups of patients with Schirmer of the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The research group FLS(%) was 22.5(18/80), control group(FLS%) was 6.1(6/98), according to the P<0.05 standard test, two groups of patients with FLS(%) the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). 3 Patients with 2-DM increased with age, disease duration and blood glucose levels, the prevalence of xeroma. The youth group, middle-aged group and the elderly group of patients with xeroma prevalence rates were 20.8%, 50% and 77.3%; three groups were compared the prevalence of xeroma, the prevalence of xeroma have statistically significant difference(P<0.05). <5 group, 5-10 group and >10 years group, three groups of patients with xeroma prevalence rate was 10.5%, 45.9%, 83.3%. One way ANOVA was used for statistical analysis showed that the prevalence of xeroma differences between the three groups of patients was statistically significant(P<0.05). Glycated hemoglobin low level, middle level group and high level group of patients with type 2 diabetes prevalence rate were 16.7%, 35.3% and 65%, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). 4 Between different gender 2-DM patients had no significant difference in the prevalence of xeroma. The male group with xeroma disease prevalence rate was 48.71%(19/39), and the female group of xeroma prevalence rate was 48.8%(20/41), The two groups of patients with xeroma prevalence differences between no statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions: 2-DM patients with xeroma prevalence was significantly higher than that in non 2-DM group, With the age of patients, duration and blood glucose levels increased, the prevalence of xeroma. But between the different gender of patients with 2-DM had no significant difference in the prevalence of xeroma. Progress of blood glucose level in patients with 2-DM disease and positive control, may help control the occurrence and development of xeroma.
