Objective:By observing the lung functions to study the response of overweight and obese asthmatic children to treatment with inhaled corticosteroids plus long-acting beta2-agonist( ICS/LABA).Methods : One hundred and seven children with asthma were classified into overweight and obese group(45 cases) and normal-weight group(62 cases) based on body mass index(BMI). All of the children received treatment with ICS/LABA for two years. Lung functions were evaluated before and after treatment, including proximal airway function(forced vital capacity(FVC%),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1%)) and distal airway function(maximal expiratory flow 50(MEF50%),maximal expiratory flow 25(MEF25%)).Results:Before treatment, two groups had no significant difference in both proximal and distal airway function, but after treatment had significant difference. After treatment with ICS/LABA for two years, proximal airway function(FVC% and FEV1%) in normal-weight group was better than pre-treatment, however distal airway function(MEF50% and MEF25%) was not different, interestingly MEF25% in overweight and obese group was lower than pre-treatment.Conclusions:ICS/LABA can improve the proximal airway function in asthmatic children with normal body weight, but has no effect on distal airway function. Overweight and obese can restrain the effect of treatment with ICS/LABA on asthmatic children, interestingly maybe do some damage to distal airway function. Objective: To observe the efficacy of aerosol inhalation with recombinant human interferon alpha 2b in treatment of bronchiolitis, and its effects on the pulmonary function restoration and recurrent wheezing. Methods: A total of 100 outpatient infants diagnosed with bronchiolitis between January 2015 and April 2015(74 males,26 females)were divided into 2 groups, 61 cases in group A and 39 cases in group B. Except for the conventional therapy, group A had aerosol inhalation with recombinant human interferon alpha 2b for 5-7 days. Group B as the control group only had the conventional therapy. Then the curative effect after 7 days treatment, time of clinical symptoms and signs disappeared, the tidal breathing pulmonary function about 2 months later and the incidence of recurrent wheezing of both group were compared. Results: The curative effect, time of clinical symptoms and signs disappeared and tidal breathing pulmonary function(TPTEF/TE, VPEF/VE) of the group A was significantly improved when compared with group B(P<0.05),but the incidence of recurrent wheezing between group A and B had no significantly difference(P>0.05).Conclusion: Aerosol inhalation with recombinant human interferon alpha 2b in treatment of bronchiolitis had good curative effect. This treatment can help clinical symptoms and signs disappeared early, and early restoration of small airway obstruction and mildly reduce the rate of recurrent wheezing.
