| Compound Jiao Xuan Ling linimentum which consists of Radix Scutellariae, Rhizoma Coptidis, Cortex Phellodendri, Cortex Pseudolaricis, etc has an effect of removing heat, dispelling moisture, killing worm and anti-pruitic. It is mainly used to cure dermatomycosis pedis and ringworm of body. However, its disadvantageous dosage form restricts the further application of this prescription in clinic use. According to the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the essential component is isolated from the principal drug, and formulated as linimentum to increase the therapeutic effects and the compliance of the patient. A rational extraction technique was established by assessing the extracting amount of baicalin and berberine in Fu Fang Jiao Xuan Ling using HPLC, the optima extraction process investigated by the orthogonal design was as follow, adding 10 times of 80% alcohol into meal, refluxing and extracting for 2 times, 60 minutes every time.The optimal formulation was ascertained by evaluatig the effect of enhancers on the percutanous absorption and skin residue of baicalin and berberine hydrochloride 3% PG in combination with 3% menthol was secected to produce a marked deposition enhancement of the two ingredients.The thin-layer chromatography was used to identify fructus cnidii and floscaryophylli and the HPLC method was employed to determine the content of baicalin and berberine hydrochloride in the compound Jiao Xuan Ling linimentum, which could be adopted as a useful method to control the quality of the preparationThe preliminary clinical observation was carried out and the result showed that the preparation had a better effect than the original broth. |
