| Object:This trial was designed to explore the efficacy and safety of Tianlong Fubu Decoction (TLFBD) in the convalescence stage of Cerebral Thrombosis (hepatic and renal yin deficiency, Phlegm-stasis Blocking Collateral Type) and to explore the mechanisms and methods of Chinese herbs in treating the convalescence stage of Ischemic Apoplexy, using random, consecutive trials in both treatment and comparison groups. Methods:Eighty patients were randomly divided into a treatment group, and comparison group, and two patients were removed, leaving a treatment group of thirty-nine patients, and a comparison group of thirty-nine patients. The comparison group was treated with anti-platelet aspirin and oral Lumbrukinase,as is the conventional, western treatment. On the basis of conventional treatment,TLFBD was given to the treatment group. The treatment period lasted four weeks. The observation indexes included:total points of before and after neurofunction deficit score, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome(TCM) grade, the Activities of Daily Living (ADL)score, blood rheology and cruor test, and plasma homocysteine level. Results:After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores, neurofunction deficit scores in both groups were decreased(P<0.01),and ADL scores in both groups were increased(P<0.01).The scores in the treatment group were obviously better than those in the comparion group, the differences in those scores being markedly significant(P<0.05). Statistical analysis showed that the treatment group’s Clinical symptom effective rate was 82.1%,an improvement beyond that of the comparison group’s 66.7%.Statistical analysis showed that the treatment group’s TCM syndrome efficiency rate was 84.6%, also an improvement beyond that of the comparison group’s 69.2%.The results of the treatment group’s blood rheology and cruor tests showed obvious improvement above those of the comparison group. However, tests of plasma homocysteine levels showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P> 0.05). Conclusion:The present trail indicates that both therapies have benefical effects upon Ischemic Apoplexy in TCM and clinical symptom. The treatment group, however, showed a more significant therapeutic action.Neither treatment showed any side-effects. |
