The Mandarin of Taiwan and the Mandarin of Chinese mainland have the same source,linguistic group, and character. But50years of artificially isolation, the Chinese of cross-straitdevelop and change in their respective societies with different political, economic, andcultural. The Mandarin of Taiwan formed unique geographic and cultural characteristics andthe forth putting of language features, and the using of the classical words is one of theimportant difference between the written of cross-strait. But with the increasingly frequent ofthe cross-strait exchanges and this difference is gradually reduced. In this paper, I combinedthe quantitative statistics and the qualitative analysis, the static description and the dynamicinvestigation, and then analyzed503words selecting from the "Modern Chinese Dictionary"and the "Mandarin utilize Dictionary", and combined with the" United Daily News "and"People’s Daily ", and to do a detailed comparison of the difference between the cross-strait ofthe classical Chinese words meaning and current usage.
