A Study On The Modal Particles Of Guo Moruo’s Historical Plays

Guo Moruo’s historical plays are very important in the modern literature and play animportant role in the creation of modern plays. Most researchers on Guo Moruo’s historicalplays focus on the field of modern literature; however, there is a lack of vocabulary researchof historical plays, especially the research on the modal particles of his play. This paper takessix historical plays from his works, namely, Zhuo Wenjun, Wang Zhaojun, Nieying, whichwere written in the1920s, Tanglizhihua, Qu Yuan and Hufu, which were created in the1940s.Based on these materials, the paper analyses the whole section and features of modal particles.This paper is composed of four parts:The first part introduces research status of modal particles and Guo Moruo’s historicalplays, research means and significance.The second part presents the word frequency of modal particles presented in the playswith the help of word frequency software, thus obtaining the adequate data and results.The third part analyses the data and results obtained from the second part, describes themodal particles and focus on the word frequency and the uses.The forth part makes a comparison and analysis of modal particles between the play inthe early period and play the middle period. In addition, the paper compares the modalparticles between Guo Moruo’s historical plays and Caoyu’s famous drama, LeiYu.
