With the increasing number of Chinese learners, teaching Chinese overseas is becomingthe main component of international Chinese Teaching. The students of Master of TeachingChinese to Speakers of Other Languages need to practice overseas. However, not all ofthe students can get the chance of teaching Chinese overseas due to some restrictions.For the sake of resolving this problem, the project of short-term teaching Chineseoverseas has appeared. Until now, some experts and scholars in the field of TCSL ismainly for the domestic Chinese as a Foreign Language teaching, whereas lack ofsufficient attention to overseas Chinese Language Teaching and Research, especiallyof short-term project. This status doesn’t adapt to the current situation. Therefore, theauthor believes that it is important to study the short-term project through readingsome theory books of Chinese as a second language teaching and teaching Chineseoverseas.This thesis focuses on the project of short-term overseas Chinese languageteaching according to the author’s experience of teaching Chinese in short-termintermediate level in Sookmyung Women’s University of Korea. It supplied someconcrete and vivid teaching cases and analyzed based on the knowledge of Chinesebody features and the methods of teaching Chinese. Meanwhile, the thesis combinestheory with practice, teaching method with cases, and discusses some characteristics,principles, teaching methods and techniques, auxiliary teaching means, and reflectionof the short-term Chinese Teaching overseas.This thesis is divided into six chapters:Chapter One: Introduction. Point out the motives and significance of selective subject,research status in domestic and overseas, the study method, and the environment of TeachingChinese overseas.Chapter Two: Characteristics of short-term Chinese Teaching overseas, including teaching and students.Chapter Three: Principles of short-term Chinese Teaching overseas.Chapter Four: Teaching methods and techniques of short-term Chinese Teachingoverseas, including Pronunciation, Character, Vocabulary,Grammar of Chinese and Culture.Chapter Five: Auxiliary teaching means of short-term Chinese Teaching overseas.Chapter Six: Reflection of the short-term Chinese Teaching overseas. Severaladvices of the quality of teachers and short-term project organizers have been made.
