The Correction Of Interpretation Of Common Words In Bronze Inscriptions Dictionaries

Bronze inscriptions dictionaries are the essential reference books in reading and studying Bronze Inscriptions, but the explanations of common words are greatly different, some of which need discussion. Furthermore, many new Bronzes have been discovered in recent years, and new interpretations and more classic examples are included. Three reference books,The Oracle and Bronze Inscriptions Dictionary, The Condensed Bronze Inscriptions Dictionary and The Commonly-used Dictionary of Bronze Inscriptions are selected, interpretations of some common words are corrected, and the characteristics of Bronze common words are also explored. In addition, the characteristics, strong and weak points of these three dictionaries are appraised respectively in a simply way, and some improvements of reference book of bronze inscriptions dictionary are proposed as well.
