The Research On Punishment Procedure About Military Officers Of Green Standard Army In Qing Dynasty

Since Green Standard Army was established in the time of Shunzhi, it was the main military force of the Qing Dynasty like Eight Baner. Military officers played a key role in Green Standard Army, because it decides Green Standard Army’s overall quality. Ruler can control Green Standard Army only through commanding military officers. Almost every emperor in the Qing Dynasty attached importance to supervision and management on military officers of Green Standard Army. The punishment to military officers is the important link in it. Legislative officers formulated a set of strict and comprehensive judicial procedure for the administrative sanction and criminal sanction of military officers. In legal practice, this set of judicial procedure was executed strictly. Currently, the academic circle has not made systematic research on this problem. Based on the historical information on regulations and the analysis of legal cases about punishment on military officers in Green Standard Army, this paper discusses and analyses the judicial procedure.This paper consists of four parts. The first part is preface. It is composed of the object of study, concept definition, research status and values, the references and research methods. The second part interprets administrative sanction’s procedure on military officers in Green Standard Army. The third part interprets criminal sanction’s procedure on military officers in Green Standard Army. The fourth part is the comments on this judicial procedure.
