Against the background of globalization, news translation, serving as a main formto deliver information internationally, becomes increasingly important. Interest hasbeen on the rise among researchers from various disciplines in studying newstranslation. This thesis intends to study the new translation from the perspective ofIntertextuality.By studying the previous works on translation from the perspective ofIntertextuality and the news translation, the author finds that works on newstranslation from the application of Intertextuality are in small numbers and most ofthem are not comprehensive enough. This paper aims to provide a morecomprehensive analysis of the E-C translation of news from specific and genericIntertextuality. With qualitative methodology, the author believes that translation, inlight of Intertextuality, includes two processes: understanding and rewriting thesource text. Translator should take the Intertextual knowledge of the source textreaders and the target text readers into full consideration in these two processes. In thisthesis, the author collects and analyzes a great number of news and their translatedversion from the perspectives of specific and generic Intertextuality. By figuring outthe way to translate in light of Intertextuality, the author argues that Intertextuality isfeasible to guide news translation. This thesis recommends that Intertextuality can be widely applied into translationof other fields and more comprehensive studies can be carried out in the newstranslation from the perspective of Intertextuality combined with other theories.
