The Application And Development Of C.T.S Elements In Visual Design

C.T.S element is to absorb the design elements from Calligraphy, Traditional ChinesePainting and Seal. It also helps the current designers to learn the advanced digital visualart from the west and meanwhile they can intelligently merge the traditional Chineseculture of C.T.S elements into it, so that they could create the works full of traditionalChinese flavor.This thesis analyzes and researches the target consumers’ emotional demand on thebasis of practice methodology, symbol theory and traditional culture designing theory, aswell finds out the lack of creativity in the current China visual designing industry throughstudies of cases both at home and abroad. Solutions to the existed problems of anddevelopment direction of practical use of C.T.S elements as symbols in moderndesigning are provided. This thesis also comes up with the idea of applying traditionalcultural elements to practical creation on the basis of emotional demands.The thesis is made up of6parts. The first part is background and significance of thestudy, including the development and application of C.T.S elements in the field of visualexpression. The content and framework of the study are also included. The second partincludes the study of cultural content and practical significance of C.T.S elements Partthree introduces the practical, aesthetic, culture transmissional functions of C.T.S elementsthrough theoretical analysis and practical researches, as well as how to develop and applythese functions in accordance to modern environment. Part four focuses on historic andatistic values of C.T.S elements and the part of which contributes to the designing valuesand spirituality of visual designing. Part five exposes problem of C.T.S elements andprovides solutions as well as development direction. Part six summarizes the applicationand development of C.T.S elements in visual transmission.
