Study On Foreign Learners’ Shuncheng Correlative Words

This research conducts an investigation into fifteen shuncheng (Chinese) correlative words, which are jiu, bian, cai, zai, you, shouxian, xian, ranhou, jiezhe, yushi, conger, houlai, congci, zuihou, zhongyu. The thesis defines these words and analyzes their syntactic function and semantic relationship. Besides, we conduct error analyses and reason exploration on them, and then arrange the acquisition sequence of these words to give reference to teaching practice.Firstly, this thesis introduces the significance of this research, theoretical basis and the frame of whole article. It reviews the literature on this topic. Based on the findings from the review stage, it proposes the idea of this study. We choose shuncheng from shuncheng, chengjie, lianguan and shundi as the name. Starting from compound sentence, we clarify both the status of shuncheng relation in the whole system and the relationship between shuncheng correlative words and shuncheng compound sentence. With the shuncheng correlative words defined, we determine the range of shuncheng correlative words and classify them into two kinds, which are typical and non-typical. After clarifying, we set the rules of choosing corpus.Based on this, we make a statistical analysis on the663valid sentences from corpus of foreign students. According to the statistics, we choose one from different order on four data. And then we verify the order by the acquisition sequence of seven groups of shuncheng correlative words. And we obtain the acquisition sequence of these fifteen words as follows: jiu> ranhou> cai> shouxian> xian> zuihou> zhongyu> zaii> you> houlai> yushi> bian> congci> jiezhe> conger. And then, we analyze the errors made by foreign students. We conclude that the error of ranhou is caused by the foreign students on the generalization of the rules of the target language, while the misuse between shuncheng and cause-effect is caused by its native speakers negative migration. At last, we give suggestion to teaching practice.
