Fu About Natural Disaster During The Han Wei And Six Dynasties

This thesis bases on the analysis of existing editions andarticles of Fu about natural disaster during the Han Wei and sixdynasties to reveal its development and status. Then the authorattempts to classify its contents, study the set of discoursestructures and literary features performed for the purposes ofgetting a glimpse of different thoughts in different times. Thisthesis is divided into four parts:The first part: there are a great many of flaws in thoseeditions and articles of Fu about natural disaster during HanWei and six dynasties. Those types of Fu are mostly preservedin literature sets,and the reference documents. Because ofkeeping for a long time and other factors, some works aremiscoded and some parts missed. This chapter aims to proofreadand comb the literature, making them return to the originalcondition.The second part: classify those Fu during the Han Wei andsix dynasties and study the different development conditions indifferent types、the main contents、the reason why quite moreFu appeared in Cao Wei dynasty and what difference those modelswith same topic make to the development of Fu about naturaldisasters. The third part: The Fu about natural disaster establishesunique features on the writing and sentences, not only with greatorders in Han dynasties. The writing model: the introductionexplains writing purpose and time, and then the first paragraphappears the reason for disasters and next describes thedisasters to promote imperial virtues. Besides, on the featuresof sentence, lots of six-six and five-seven sentences appearsand the contents become more and more fresh and natural. What’s more, writing with artistic flexibility not only showsmythological image of citations but also employs rhetoric likemetaphor, personification to make contents livelier.The forth part also the last parts: the author presents thecultural spirit embodied in the Fu during the six dynasties andthe impact on the Fu in Tang dynasty. The most prominent ismanifestation of thought, followed by Confucian thought oftaking care of labor people, while with relatively few Xuandaothought in those works. Almost in every Fu there are Ying andYang concept which says that the main method to avoid and reducethe disaster is to exaggerate imperial virtues and then thoseemperors will feel it and promote better politic approaches tohelp. Fu in Tang dynasty mainly about direct measures abouthelping people tide over a natural disaster by many specific methods and then followed by description of sacrificial ritesfragments.
