With the rapid growth of China’s economy and the enhancement of theinternational standing, the worldwide enthusiasm for learning Chinese continues toheat up."Chinese fever" has become a universal phenomenon of the global languagecommunication system. In recent years, the number of learning Chinese outside ofChina has increased rapidly, which also brings new challenges for the promotion ofChinese education. Finding faster and better ways to help students master the Chineselanguage is the top priority of our learning and research.This article focuses on the comparative study of “neng" and "can” and theteaching strategies. Chinese auxiliary verbs and English modal verbs have manysimilarities in meaning and functions, but there are also some differences. This makesit difficult for the students to learn the auxiliary verbs."neng", as a high-frequencyword of the new HSK exam outline, is also a commonly used word in Chinesecommunication, which is particularly important in the Chinese vocabulary learning.The comparative study and error analysis can help the foreign students understand theusage of "neng" better, and distinguish their differences, thus enhancing the positivetransfer and decreasing the negative transfer of mother tongue. |
