In the western orchestra woodwind group, the oboe is a beautiful tone of unique musicalinstruments. Oboe serve as the orchestra’s role in setting tone, that’s why it plays a veryimportant role in the orchestra. The goal of this paper is to use3D modeling software in CAIoboe, for improving teaching effectiveness, saving the cost of teaching, and improvingteaching efficiency. The paper describes the origin of the oboe, and gives a detailed analysisto the importance of oboe in orchestra, and introduce the qualities the performers shouldpossess. Subsequently the paper discusses the key problem of mastering oboe playing skillsand playing a pure tone. The reed of oboe is the answer and consequently the reed cutting andreparing is the most critical part of this problem. Being aware of that, it is still a tough part inthe oboe teaching, for the reed reparing part is very tiny and precise. The disscution of reedarea partition and function is difficult to achieve intuitively effects.In the following part, wedesign a3D teaching software by Maya, and design appropriate teaching methods todecompose the oboe reed structure, and to build its3D model.With the help of3Dmodeling,it will be a much easier task to teach the oboe cutting. This model and methods areused in the oboe teaching, which shows a lot of help for oboe teaching.
