Research On The Relationship Between The Development And Performance Of Oboe Reeds

Reed is one of the main factors influencing the performance of Oboe. Its development has gone through a long history. This article studies the relationship between the development of reed and performance of Oboe. The author believes that the actual needs of music performance have promoted the development of reed, while the reed has a significant influence on Oboe playing. Firstly, the author summarizes the development of reed and correlates it with the development of times, advancement of performance and evolution of musical instrument. Secondly, the author introduces the structure and processing of contemporary Oboe reed, and discusses ways to tell good or bad of reed and finds solutions. Last but not least, the paper discusses the requirement of reed regarding different playing styles, artistic conceptions and forms. By discussing the three aspects, the paper would like to highlight the role of performance in promoting the development of reed, and the importance of reed in performance. The author discusses the topic in a comprehensive and systemic way on the basis of Chinese and foreign literature, previous materials, asking teachers and personal experience, aiming to provide theoretical reference for learners' understanding of Oboe reed and to solve practical problems in actual performance associated with reed.
