21st century is a highly thrived stage with a blooming development ofinformation technology. Under the economic globalization, language informationservice industry steps further towards a new and modernized level, leading thattranslation industries in China update quickly.However, the traditional translation workshop couldn’t satisfy the increasingneeds of the new society. Computer-aided translation (hereafter, CAT) tools make upthis weakness. With high efficiency, speed and output, CAT allows translationindustry to get rid of old working mode and realizes the automation and enlarged scaleof translation industry. This brings new challenges to universities and students. CATteaching becomes a part of school life.Accordingly, in this paper, a general survey of CAT teaching and its teachingefficiency has been made, in the view of colleges and students. This research aims atbridging the gap between CAT teaching and the practice of students in daily life,trying to give some useful advices about CAT teaching.
