With the rapid economic development and educational ideas constantly updated,the new concept of infant education has been penetrated deeply every parent’s heart.Early education is not only the infants were the inculcation of knowledge, but shouldbe training on the cognitive ability. Individual’s cognitive ability is accompanied byphysiological mature and continue to develop, it can be divided into differentcognitive stages in the long development with the order and progressive. The infantwas the early cognitive development, but through the appropriate external stimulation,can make a cognitive function of infants and young children get some exercise, isbeneficial to enter the next stage of cognitive development.Books are the second infant toys after normal toys. Compared with the toys,books have many more conducive to the development of cognitive factors on infantinterest in attention, thinking, word and imagination in the future, the ability toexplore the culture of learning is undoubtedly a great help. Paper combines thecharacteristics of the infant stage of cognitive development theory, cognitivedevelopment level and author’s interview surveys of eight mothers of infants, siteinvestigation, then analyze the relationship between cognitive development in infantsand books design with the theory.This paper classifies the common infant books and characteristics, and thenanalyzed infant books of all design points from the cognitive development, at thesame time, it puts forward the design method, which is feasible and to the point, Isummarized the main principles of infant books based on the cognitive development.Through the analysis of this topic, the author hopes the thesis will provide somedesign theory and practice of infant books to the development of infant books.
