The Enlightenment Of The Spread Strategies Of Buddhism In China To Foreign Transmission Of China’s Culture

With the continuous development of the globalization, the international culturalexchange is increasingly close. Countries pay more and more attention to theconstruction of the cultural soft power when they raise their political, economic,military and other hard power. Cultural soft power has become an important referencefor the countries to formulate cultural strategies and national strategies. Our country hasmade great achievements in promoting Chinese culture vigorously around the world,but also exists many problems. To solve these problems, it is necessary to improvecommunication strategy and the mode of transmission.The spread of Buddhism in China began in the Han dynasty, so far Buddhism hasextremely profound influence on Chinese culture, and China has become the secondhome of the Buddhism. After Buddhism was introduced into China, with the influenceof different cultures and customs, Buddhism has gradually formed Chinese Buddhism,Tibetan Buddhism and Southern Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism as the researchobject in this article. The spread of the Buddhism in China is a successful cross-culturalcase. The communication effect and influence of Buddhism in China is obvious to all.Buddhism has accumulated rich experience about communicating in nearly twothousand years, which is worth to learning from.This dissertation takes literature analysis as the research method. First is collectingresearch results and historical materials about the strategies of Buddhism’s spread inChina. Then need to arrange the materials, and based on these materials. The study ofBuddhism’s spread strategy in China from the perspective of communication andcross-cultural communication. With the example of Buddhism’s spread strategy inChina, then analysis it and sum up the strategies. Combined with the current status ofthe spread of Chinese culture, study what can we learn from the Buddhism’s spreadtransmission.The dissertation summarized the Buddhism’s spread strategies from the content,subject, receptor. Through the analysis and summary, put forward some helpful advicesand enlightenment for Chinese foreign cultural transmission and Chinese internationalteaching based on the international background and the problems of Chinese foreigncultural transmission. Learning from the successful experience of the spread strategiesof Buddhism will help us make up for the shortcomings and avoid risks, to do “taking history as a mirror”.
