The expression of “Simplicity is the most beautiful thing in the world” used byZhuangzi not only illustrated his unique and profound aesthetics, but alsodemonstrated the basic thought connotation of simple aestheticism.Naturalness aestheticism is the simple artistic beauty, including truthfulness, plain and naivete, and is also the most unique and profound beauty among all kindsof aesthetics. Simple emphasizes the beauty of nature without any modification, which is also referred to the “second nature with no decoration”. Meanwhile, the artof “clumsy” reflects the naturalness with conscious, which should be took into thepractice and applied in every work.“Clumsy” also embodied the viewof artistic creation and aesthetics with little artificial work and learning from theoutside. Naturalness aestheticism reflects the great artful beauty of supernaturalworkmanship and nature. This proposition includes decreasing the thought ofcunning and putting more emphasize in accident, reducing the additionalworkmanship and paying more attention to nature. The standpoint of “too straight isseems to bend, great wisdom appears stupid, and great pleader appears dull” alsomentioned in the work of “The45thchapter of Laozi”. Though this dialecticalphilosophy was not intended to beauty-appreciation, it can also be suitable foraesthetic category for aesthetics is the branch philosophy.“Skillful and clumsy”which said by Laozi embodied the harmonious concept of art and clearlydemonstrated the dialectic relationship of interdependence of them in art creation.Naturalness aestheticism is not only truthfulness but alsosimplicity, which is theeternalprinciple that must be followed in art region, especially in the field of painting.Classical oil paintings with the feature of naturalness aestheticism both in the homeand aboard bring us unprecedented resonance and affection by their specialartistic tension and artistic inspiration. Putting more efforts into these classical oilpaintings, it was easy to find the common points of them—in subject, they are closeto the plain life; in style, they are rusticity and frankness; in colour, they are moreready to freedom and romantic, as well as the truthfully expression of artisticemotions of artist. The beauty of “naturalness aestheticism” in oil painting endowsthe picture with the sense of aesthetic feeling of simplicity and nature. Moreover, thesimple and truthful subject emotional expressions of the authors’, their depiction of the simple theme in life, and the unique artistic tension and artistic appeal ofthemselves make these oil paintings incomparably moving. In them, artists expresstheir gut feeling, as well as the most truthful and simplest artistic emotions. This sublime artistic aesthetic feeling would never fed in whatever era andplace, and would not show any discrepancy in different regions. As long as it issincere, it is impressive. Nowadays, this sense of beauty is advancing with the timesand becoming more and more brilliant along with the accumulation of times. Thesepaintings not only bring crowds the moving of arts but also the feeling of their ownlives. These works give us the shake from visual sense to heart, which is exactly thenaturalness character of arts that endow their work with forever charm.
