The Chinese Translation And The Study Of Chinese Europeanization In Sex Difference In Face Cognition

Almost any languages in the world will be periodically or continuously influencedby other languages in the development of human languages. As a matter of fact, this isalso the development of the language itself. It is a fact that strong as English is, it doesinfluence written Chinese. Inevitably, on the one hand, English enriches Chinese; on theother hand, in the process of translation, it can be an obstacle and disturb the translators.Translation is a way of disseminating cultures. The most novel elements from foreigncultures would first appear in translation. Therefore, translation is the origin of ChineseEuropeanization. China set off a reform of writing system in the may fourth period. Fromthat on, written vernacular Chinese was widely used and lots of foreign literary works wastranslated into Chinese, which led to many Europeanized Chinese. Some Europeanizedparts have blended into modern Chinese and been a part of it. While others were overlyEuropeanized, not conforming to the idiomatic expression rules of Chinese, and wereeliminated in the development process. Based on the present studies of ChineseEuropeanization, this paper aims to search for solutions to deal with the disadvantages ofChinese Europeanization. By translating The Sex Differences in Face Cognition, thispaper tries to solve the problems of Chinese Europeanization in the translation, and to agreat extent, make the translation best equivalent to the source text.
