Mental Health Status And Intervention Strategies Among Male Homosexuality PLWHA

Objective: To investigate the mental health status and related factors of malehomosexuality PLWHA (people living with HIV/AIDS), and preliminary discuss theintervention strategy of male homosexuality PLWHA.Methods: the male homosexuality PLWHA attending the CD4cell count testingin Nanchang Disease Prevention and Control Center and Nanchang isolation hospitalwere selected by convenient cluster sampling and surveyed with the self-ratingquestionnaire SAS,SDS,WHO Quality of Life scale brief version(WHOQOL-BREF).Results:(1) The anxiety and depression detection rate of male homosexualityPLWHA are29.4%,60.7%,the score of SAS,SDS of male homosexuality PLWHA issignificant lower than the national norm overall(P<0.001).(2) There is significantdifference in medical insurance, satisfaction of help form others, living situation,relationship with family, smoking history, CD4cell count of SAS score(P<0.05);There is significant difference in living situation, medical insurance, satisfaction ofhelp form others, family annual income, relationship with family, CD4cell count ofSDS score(P<0.05).(3) The score of physical domain, psychological domain, socialdomain score is significant lower than the national norm overall(P<0.001),environmental domain is lower than the national norm overall(P>0.05).(4) Thequality of life is significant negative correlation with their anxiety and depression;There is significant difference between anxiety group and non-anxiety group,depression group and non-depression group in physical domain, psychologicaldomain, social domain and environmental domain.(5) Education degree, startingtreatment, relationship with family, CD4cell count and score of physical domain andpsychological domain have enter the regression equation of mood.Conclusion: Life quality of physical domain and psychological domain,education degree, starting treatment, relationship with family, and CD4cell count etcfactors can influence the mental health status, we should use these factors to improvethe mental health status of male homosexuality PLWHA.
