Objective: This research is designed to perform a comprehensive investigationof the status of serious leisure perspective and the relationship between serious leisureperspective and subjective well-being with applying the “Scale of Serious LeisurePerspective” and “Scale of Subjective Well-being” as tools, by aiming the residents ofNanchang who have serious leisure behavior as research subjects.Methodology:“The Scale of Serious Leisure Perspective” and “The Scale ofSubjective Welling-being” select350residents with serious leisure behavior ofNanchang city to undertake the research. SPSS17.0statistic software has beenadopted as to perform the data analysis.Results:: By applying the quantitative research methodology, this researchproves the positive influence of serious leisure to subjective well-being. Participantsof serious leisure activities acquire six personal traits including including consistency,motivation, leisure benefits, subculture, sense of commitment, and career by takingpart in serious leisure on a long-term orientation. These traits tend to produce feelingof happiness. This research also discovers that the integrated serious leisure andsubjective well-being of Nanchang city dwellers stays at a relatively high level.Moreover, the results have significant difference with choosing different variablessuch as gender, age, martial status, partner support, education level, occupation,monthly income, frequency of leisure activities, leisure activities life.
