Ning Hao has created four genre movies so far.It’s not a big number,but these fourmovies are totally different in subject and style.He is good at absorb the merits ofgenre movie. There is an inclination in his movies that the narrative elements mergingtogether.My thesis is working on how does this inclination happened, what kind ofthe aesthetic value include in his movies I also try to figure out the various influencesthis fusion brings.My thesis has six parts. The chapter one is an introduction that introduces themotive of this article as well as the relevant study of Ning Hao’s movie in theacademia. Then I focus on the formation of his working methods in the chapter two.The third chapter analyzes how does this fusion reflect in his movies. The last part is conclusion.Through the study of Ning Hao genre movies.there aretwo reasons for his seekingbreakthroughs and innovation.On the one hand,he never gives up pursuing the artspirit since he began to create the commercial movie.On the other hand, head heres tothe original.These two aspects reasons drive Ning Hao to implement the diverse typesof change through the different combination of narrative elements,and in his workspresent a tendency of multi-type narrative element fusion. Despite all this, hismovieshavefourbasic features: legendstory,easy to understand,criticalness, theory ofkarma.Variable appearance and the same kernel, under the joint action of Ning Hao’sgenre movie often reveal new and varied, not only broke the general pattern of genreand aesthetic interest, and formed its own unique style of work and type style. It’s noexaggeration to say that Ning Hao’s movie provide a model to Chinese commercialmovie. His success inspirits other director create more good genre movies, and we canalso learn a lesson from his defects.
