The Research Of Domestic Road Movie Genre In China

In 2001 the first domestic road movie was produced and screened in China. After almost 15 years, road movies have gained China-style characteristics, and have increased in film market share profits. This paper contains five parts, which analyze the developing strategies of China’s domestic road movie genre.Introduction- Primarily defines the concept of road movie genre, reviewing the current studies on this topic. Chapter I- Will explore the reasons of the emergence of Chinese road movie genre based on a sociocultural study of China’s current social structure.An analysis examines the forms and internal spirit of that genre. Chapter II- Analyzes the narrative pattern of domestic road movie genre, pointing out the features and drawbacks that exist. Chapter III- Explores the identification processes between the audience and the characters in Chinese road movie genre films. Chapter IV- Recommendations based on the current development of domestic road movies, as well as provides valuable references of the development of Chinese commercial movies.
