Translation Approaches Of Chinese Diet Terms-a Case Study On Translation Of A Bite Of China

Chinese diet culture has attracted much attention in the world. Translated Chinesediet culture abound and play a significant role in China’s publicity campaign. Chinacan increase its cultural power on the premise of accurate translation. Beginning withthe characteristics of Chinese and Western diet culture, and the communicativepurpose, and following Skopostheorie, this paper is intended to present an integratedstudy of Chinese diet culture, with much emphasis on selecting translation approaches.By analyzing the examples from A Bite of China, this paper illustrates that the ultimatepurpose of translation of Chinese diet culture is to help the target readers understandthe source text, and aims to propose the integrated translating principles for theChinese diet culture, so as to publicize China’s culture and shed light on thecharacteristics of Chinese diet culture and relevant translation approaches.
