Research On Chinese Zeugma

Zeugma is one of known rhetorics when people communicate with each other,which has been widely used both spoken language and written language. Especiallyin the literary form of written language, zeugma is more widely used. Such as in thelanguage of poetry, zeugma is often seen and the implicit expression of poetry canshows infinite feelings. When crosstalk performers make a show wonderfully, usingzeugma can makes crosstalk more interesting and impressive. Since the publishing ofChen Wangdao’s the Main Ideas of Rhetoric, zeugma is slowly studied by experts inthe field of rhetoric and has achieved fruitful results. Those experts are dedicated tothe study of zeugma to clear up some vague understanding, while many aspects arestill controversial and the research achievements are still scattered and disorderly, nosystem. On the basis of predecessors’ research results, this article does somemeaningful and valuable and comprehensive study of zeugma, from internalcomposition of zeugma, all kinds of foundation of zeugma establish, comparationbetween zeugma and easily confused rhetorics the three aspects, hoping which isuseful for the further study of individual rhetoric and contributed to the other areas ofrhetoric.
