Report On Interpretation At The Aoji Education Exhibition

In China, education enjoys a permanent topic since ancient time. Now, studying abroadhas become a new direction in education. In the meantime, the exhibition industry in modernsociety is one of rapidly developed industries, through which all kinds of study abroadprograms brought up by corresponding companies are presented to parents. This report is aconsecutive interpretation practice report, which is based on an international educationexhibition held in Changsha Crowne Plaza by Aoji Education Group in2013. This reportdescribes the process of consecutive interpretation practice, various problems encountered andits corresponding strategies, and finally sums up the experience gained from the consecutiveinterpretation for future work.In this practice report, it firstly describes the preparation work prior to the interpretation,for instance, a background investigation about foreign universities and Aoji Education Group;preparation work for the differences in education between Britain and China, studying-abroadpolices, and vocabulary needed to study overseas. Secondly, the report conducts acomprehensive description of the whole process of the interpretation, and then produces asummary and analysis for various mistakes occurred in the interpretation. Finally, the reportcomes up with transcripts both in Chinese and English in strict accordance with the recordingof the interpretation, and carries out a comparison.In case studies, this practice report categorizes all sorts of mistakes made in theinterpretation, sums up several mistakes that are repeatedly made by the author, explores itscauses and figures out effective solutions so as to advance the interpretation level both for theauthor or other interpreters. Through the description of the task, and case studies of the interpretation materials, theauthor attaches great importance to the preparation work before the interpretation inconclusion part, for example, how to prepare for background information related to theinterpretation, how to carry out the daily training of interpretation and how to make full use ofsuggestions. With the accelerated development of Chinese economy, studying abroad will turnto a normal way accompanied by the frequent host o studying-abroad exhibitions. As a result,interpreters will play an important role and contribute tremendously to this end.
