This report is a simulated Chinese to English Consecutive Interpreting of the Commentary for ?Tieling Memory' Exhibition.The writer applies the knowledge of consecutive interpreting she learned in class in this simulation.In this report,the writer explores the problems of commentary interpretation,summarizes the relevant methods suitable for this kind of text interpretation and combines relevant theories to find solutions.The first problem is the terminologies.There are many terminologies in the material,which requires not only a large amount of pre-interpreting preparation,including terminology preparation,but also a quick grasp of key words in the process of simulation.In addition,the writer uses the solutions including complementary interpretation,so that foreign listeners can better understand its significance.The second one is logical problems.Because the selected material involves many aspects,such as economics,history and so on,and a large number of informative sentences are included.During the process of interpreting,the interpreter needs to deal effectively with long sentences,and solutions of re-expression and division are adopted to solve this problem.The interpreter also needs to adjust the energy distribution model,appropriately increase or decrease the sentence so as to interpret in a more accurate and concise way.The third is information loss problems.After analyzing the examples of note-taking,the writer solves information loss problems by using effective symbols and abbreviations.By listening to the tape repeatedly and summarizing the problems encountered in the simulation process,the writer sums up relevant methods to solve the problems,hoping that this report could serve as a reference for commentaries' interpretation in the future.
