Study On The Image Of Characters In Bronze From Shang To Xizhou Dynasty

This text tries to combines the advantage of archaeological and art history two discipline,to research the image of characters on bronze from Shang to Xizhou,with the tool of classification method from typology and style research from art history on combing systematically of the image of characters.To summerize the decorative features and the characteristics of the times of the image of characters on bronze from Shang to Xizhou.Also focus on the image of characters on other materials from prehistory to Xizhou,such as pottery,jade,stone and so on.To study early Chinese characters, namely to investigate the early origin and flow of the image in art, emphasis on the source of the image art and psychological roots. To interpretate the image mode from features and evolution could deduce that social function of bronze with characters image, and reflect that the development of self-cognition of spirit under the background of different generations and different times.First of all, there is an introduction and disposal of the image of Shang and Zhou dynasties over more than200pieces of bronze material.In addition to about30pieces of artifacts which had no more details, described only the possession of land and existing research; all other artifacts were unearthed in the details would return to reports or briefs, and introduced completely unearthed information.Because the analysis of the context and social function is essential.Of course,there is a simple analysis of class type.Secondly, a category of iconography and stylistics to these materials.Since these materials is diverse, difficult to class with simply typology method of archaeology, so this chapter is based on the image itself, the combination of typology, iconography and stylistics capture this mode of development trends in the evolution.Then put materials in a large background, combined with the previous study, preliminary analyse and interpretate the image.Then tries to clarifying the origins of the image of characters on bronzen art.A basic understanding:prehistoric cave paintings, a large number of clay figurines, pottery figures, as well as jade stone portrait is the art source of bronze figures; human aesthetic sense, the notion of soul and original faith,also had associations with the image of characters.This text is to discuss the psychological roots in the fourth chapter.It is not just limited to bronze art, but to the development of early art.The analysis and application of "original thought" theory, and combined with some classical psychoanalytic theory in sociology, and then put it under this special situation of Chinese philosophy, to analyse the psychological roots about the image of characters in early Chinese art.Last but not least is the interpretation of figures in bronze art.Actually it had been done the interpretation in classified in the foregoing, figures that bronze art trends and characteristics in different periods of evolution, also analyze the source of this image, that is exploring why it is so. In this chapter,earlier in the summary of the research findings,further clarity such of the characters with the social function of bronze, and finally settled on the image itself in order to look at all the analysis and interpretation of what is on the image shown in the foregoing.The breakthrough point is image in this text,then categorize and analyze, finally return to image to verify that the conclusions of the study,try to do research always based on the image.
