On The Pottery Characters In Shang And Xizhou Dynasty

Chinese characters are the result of the human society which is developed to a certain historical stage, from barbarism into civilization. Just as everything else, it has a process of appearing to developing, and budding to maturating. From archaeological excavations and exegetical point of view, the characters on pottery of Shang and Zhou dynasty and the prehistoric pottery characters are closer to the original form of Chinese characters.With a large amount of the characters information on pottery appeared on excavation of archaeological sites, these primitive symbols attracted the attention of scholars. Although scholars paid great attention on studying the pottery characters of Shang and XiZhou dynasty, they also have been achieved fruitful results, due to the limited characters information, identification and Explanation is very difficult, a lot of characters can not be accurately interpreted, and are highly controversial.This paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter I is the introduction of the pottery characters excavation of Shang dynasty which is developed separately by its exploring time, and the introduction of scholars'studying about it, especially on their achievement and shortcomings.Chapter II is about the studying of pottery characters in Shang dynasty and the interpretation on the newly pottery characters excavation. The results of scholars' researching are mainly introduced in this part, and meanwhile the writer gives his own opinions on scholars'misinterpretation, wrong interpretation and controversial Interpretation of the pottery characters.Chapter III is about the studying of pottery in Xizhou dynasty and the interpretation on the newly pottery characters excavation.
