Stan Lai is a famous Taiwan theatre director. In his dramatic career, hehas created a series of wonderful performances, and opened up new theatrical Aesthetics,led the audience back to the theater to appreciate the charm of it, and create a newterritory for the Chinese drama development.Every audience go into the dramatic works of Stan Lai will be surprised by thecreative and changeable stage and amazed by the profound thoughts of philosophy. StanLai’s drama works has new and original style and not to stick to one pattern, it’s hard tofind a "typical" from to represent their aesthetic style. Experimentalism is probably themost appropriated summary of aesthetic style of Stan Lai’s works.This paper starts from the "collective improvisation" and picks up five categories:The structure of drama, Reconstruction of stage, on the absorption and utilization ofChinese traditional culture，Ethnic identity and Philosophy of life, and analyzes theexperimental drama aesthetic features in a perspective of Stan Lai’s stage production intheatre style. With the change of contemporary aesthetic thought in finding theoreticalsources of the experimental drama aesthetic, and try to find out a reference to Chinesedrama.
